Biography
I was born in 1984 son of Lori Dufek and Don Holtger. I grew up
near Lena, WI and attended school there as well. I was the
Salutatorian of my graduating class. I have been working since I
was 14 for both my father’s family business, Holtger Bros., Inc.,
and my stepfather’s construction company, Lena Area Builders. I
graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and earned a
bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. I recently started
my own residential construction company, Nick Holtger Construction
(NHC) Corporation.
How I got started racing
Racing has been a part of the Holtger family since my uncle, Jeff
Holtger, began racing a Pro 4x4 truck in the SODA series in 1994.
At age 14, I was constantly around the off-road racetrack as well
as the stock car scene. When I began working for Holtger Bros.,
Inc., I also began helping IMCA Modified driver, Eddie Muenster,
during the week and also at the races. Since then racing has
constantly been on my mind.
When I was 15, I purchased a dirt bike and began competing in the
local amateur circuit with my cousin Bryan. I competed in
motocross for 3 years and then moved on to a different type of
racing, go-carting. I raced go-carts at the Hi-Go Raceway in
Cecil, WI, for a season and finished second overall in the
year-end points, in the Animal Medium Division. In the spring of
2004, Bryan and I began racing in the IMCA Modified Circuit. When
we started, we had only one car to share between the two of us, so
I purchased my own car part way through the summer. I began racing
both Friday and Saturday nights for the remainder of the 2004
season. The past seasons have given me a wealth of knowledge &
experience. I have been racing the IMCA Modified class ever since.
Now that I am through college, and have my company started, I am
looking forward to the future of my racing career.
