Holtger Motorsports WSORR
Forest County
Potawatomi Brush Run Race Report
Coleman, WI (June 28, 2008) - The Holtger Motorsports Off-Road
Team headed to familiar ground to compete in the Forest
County Potawatomi Brush Run for rounds three and four of the
World Series of Off-road Racing. Both Holtger Brothers, Catco,
NAPA-Green Bay, Peshtigo National Bank, Tuttle Woodworking
Insurance Marketing Concepts, and Goodyear Tires sponsored
1600 Light Buggies would be sporting new colors as the team
now has coordinated paint schemes on both racers.
-
Round Three
-
The twenty six Light Buggy field lined up in three rows for
the "Oklahoma Land Rush Start." Craig Paitl was behind
the wheel of the #100 Light Buggy, while Stephanie Paitl,
Craig's wife, was at the controls of her #144 VW-powered
machine. Craig and Stephanie were both in tight battles with
several other buggies the entire race. At the finish
Stephanie crossed the line in twentieth, and Craig came home
in eleventh.
-
-
Afterwards Mark Hanson of Vehicle Dynamix consulted with the
team looking to improve the suspension setup on the #100
Light Buggy. After some discussion, changes were made as the
team was looking to maximize their potential.
-
-
Round Four
-
The lineup has Stephanie back behind the wheel of the #144,
while brother Bryan Holtger climbed in the #100. Once
again getting a good holeshot is key when racing at
Crandon. After the land rush start, Stephanie and Bryan came
out of Potawatomi Turn One cleanly and began the wheel
to wheel racing that this evenly match class is famous for.
At the finish, it was Bryan seventh and Stephanie twenty
first. The overnight chassis improvements the team
made to the #100 seemed to have worked.
-
-
The buggy was getting through the corners quicker and flying
lower off the jumps. The changes made to the #100 will be
applied to Stephanie's buggy for the next race. Look for
Holtger Motorsports to move up on the competition in the
races to come.
